Job Advertisement: Domestic Gas Inspector

Role Overview:

Are you an experienced professional in the field of domestic gas servicing, repair, and heating systems? We are seeking a dedicated Technical Oversight and Quality Assurance Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance across our domestic gas servicing, repair, and heating replacement programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical oversight and quality assurance for domestic gas servicing, repair, and heating replacement programs.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to validate and monitor the quality of gas repair and installation works across our housing portfolio, including capital project works, new builds, and regeneration schemes.
  • Offer technical advice to colleagues on domestic gas boiler services, hot water and heating systems, including ground source heat pumps and associated equipment.
  • Undertake surveys and inspections of existing systems to produce feasibility studies and business cases to support asset investment programs or innovations.
  • Act as Contract Administrator for small project works (up to a value of £50,000) under the supervision of the Head of Compliance and M&E.
  • Review O&M information in liaison with Compliance Delivery Officers and the Compliance & M&E Manager to ensure PPM programs are updated and all systems are subject to suitable maintenance, testing, and inspection programs.
  • Maintain professional qualifications at all times, or undertake new or further qualifications as required by the Head of M&E and Compliance, to fulfill statutory duties as a Landlord.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in domestic gas servicing, repair, and heating systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge of gas boiler services, hot water and heating systems, and ground source heat pumps.
  • Excellent auditing and inspection skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to produce feasibility studies and business cases for asset investment programs.
  • Experience acting as a Contract Administrator for small projects.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional qualifications and undertaking further training as needed.
  • Must have own vehicle; mileage costs will be reimbursed for travel around the borough for inspections (not for commuting).
