THE TEAM
The European Gas, Power and Environmental Products trading desk makes market in a variety of energy products and provides bespoke hedging solutions to clients. On a day-to-day basis, team members will be expected to price and execute derivatives transactions, develop our existing tools and analytics to inform our view of the market and more broadly stay connected with market events across commodity markets. The desk continues to expand its capabilities and is looking for a junior Gas, Power and Emissions Options Trader.

Job Summary & Responsibilities
Supporting traders with structuring, pricing and executing derivative transactions and ongoing risk management of positions
Executing and booking of flow-based trades across commodity products; identifying opportunities for automating processes and execution
Build and develop existing tools to enhance our ability to price and risk manage complex derivatives
Developing an understanding of the fundamental supply and demand balances and performing in depth research on the markets we cover
Understanding commodities market fundamentals and trends and communicating information succinctly to salespeople and clients

Minimum Education Requirements/Degree and Field
Strong academic record with minimum Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred) in a quantitative degree, with a strong Mathematics component
Minimum work experience of 1 year in either options/exotics trading OR gas/power/emissions
Knowledge of derivatives and in particular options pricing
Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving ability
Ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities, work well under pressure
Basic coding knowledge, strong Excel skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills
