GCP (Senior) Data Engineer

£700 a day, Inside IR35.

Hybrid, based in London/Birmingham.

6-Month Contract, likely to extend past

Great opportunity to join an exciting project with a major client to aid in building out a monster data platform. This is a very progressive platform that serves both data engineering and analytics purposes for a large conglomerate.

The Role and Responsibilities

The ideal Senior Data Engineer will be:

• Shaping the way the business will store data.
• Working as the sole Data Engineer within a pod, driving Data Engineering efforts.
• Productionising SQL code.
• Interacting with stakeholders and managing that relationship.
• Making sure the data is real-time/batch processed.

Desired Skills and Experience

The ideal (Senior) Data Engineer will have a background in the following:

• GCP cloud (BigQuery and other functions).
• Strong programming experience with Python and SQL.
• Big Data tools such as Kafka and Pub/Sub.
• Working knowledge of Terraform.
• Nice-To-Have: commercial experience with Google Analytics and/or Adobe Analytics.
• Strong experience liaising and managing stakeholder relationships.
• Strong communication skills are a must.
