Veritas Education is a leading education recruitment agency dedicated to connecting passionate and skilled professionals with schools across the UK. We are currently seeking a versatile and reliable General Cover Teacher to join various secondary schools in the Kirklees area.

The Role:
As a General Cover Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across a range of subjects in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Your main duties will include:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across various subjects, ensuring continuity of learning.
  • Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Supporting students' academic progress and well-being during cover lessons.
  • Adapting to different school environments and establishing rapport with students and staff quickly.
  • Providing feedback to the school on the progress of lessons and any issues that arise.
  • Ensuring all work set by the absent teacher is completed and submitted by students.

The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for confident and adaptable individuals who thrive in dynamic school settings. The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification is preferred.
  • Experience teaching in a secondary school environment.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to cover a range of subjects and year groups.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and positive attitude towards education and student development.
  • The ability to quickly build rapport with students and staff in different schools.
