General Manager

I am working with a largely growing distribution company who are looking to recruit for a Site General and Operations Manager to lead the operations and the team at their Maidstone site.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the operational function aligns with the strategic objectives, delivering exceptional service without compromise. The successful candidate will be responsible for the entire operational function and overall delivery of the operations strategies, ensuring customer and company objectives are met.

Day-to-day of the General Manager:

• Provide tactical leadership to the operations team, encompassing production, warehousing, supply chain, and customer services.
• Promote an energised environment fostering teamwork, open communication, engagement, continuous improvement, and excellent customer service.
• Develop a self-sufficient team, ensuring clarity on expectations and performance.
• Drive operational excellence and efficiencies, focusing on delivering value to customers through exceptional performance in production, quality, and process.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical, finance, human resources, and customer teams, to drive best practice product and process leadership.

Required Skills & Qualifications for the General Manager:

• Proven record of success in senior operations management within a production/operational environment.
• Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and authentic leadership skills with excellent commercial awareness.
• Technical background in manufacturing operations, utilising the latest manufacturing and supply chain best practices.
• Track record of delivering results and improved performance through employee engagement and organisational development.
• Experience in project managing the implementation of new technologies and working practices to improve efficiency.
