General Operative

General Operative required for my client for their established team based out of their office in Wigan. The General Operative with have a strong background in Rail. You will work on the North West and Central Framework for Network Rail, undertaking railway maintenance work including drainage, culverts and general Civils disciplines

Position Description:

As a General Operative on the North West and Central Framework for Network Rail, you will be engaged in railway maintenance work, including drainage, culverts, and general civil disciplines. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the proper use, storage, and disposal of vehicles, materials, tools, and plant equipment under your control. Immediate reporting of any defects to Health and Safety or your Manager is mandatory.

Additional Information:

• Nationwide travel and lodging may be required.

• This is a permanent, direct employment position.
• The role is based from our depot in Wigan.

Requirements:

Essential:

• A full, clean UK driving license.
• Construction experience.

Desirable:

• Personal Track Safety (PTS) certification.
• Mandatory Health and Safety training.
• Knowledge and experience with small tools.
• Railway experience, particularly with a good understanding of station/buildings work.
