Geo-environmental Engineer - Great Benefits!


Location: South East - Hybrid (2 days office, 3 days working from home) - Site travel required


My client is a highly skilled independent specialist Consultancy seeking an experienced Geotechnical or Geo-Environmental Engineer to join the team. With a supportive family feel, the company boasts a tight-knit team of 21 employees, fostering a vibrant social culture with regular team events and celebrations.
You will confidently manage a diverse caseload of geotechnical and geo-environmental projects from inception to completion. You will engage in a wide array of projects for esteemed clients, providing proactive project management, client communication, and technical solutions in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.


Main Duties:
*Travel to client sites for evaluations.
*Organise and manage intrusive investigations, including health and safety aspects.
*Supervise site work such as trial pitting, soakage testing, soil logging, groundwater/ground-gas monitoring, and appropriate sampling.
*Advise and recommend engineering solutions through proactive communication with clients, subcontractors, and local authorities/EHOs.
*Prepare Phase 1 Desk Studies and occasionally Flood Risk Assessments.
*Conduct Phase 2 intrusive investigations, including data collection, report writing, basic foundation design, and preparation of interpretative reports.
*Prepare Basement Impact Assessments.
*Conduct qualitative and quantitative contamination risk assessments.
*Develop Phase 3 contamination remediation strategies, including on-site supervision and verification reporting.
*Assist with sales functions such as qualifying leads, recommending solutions, issuing quotes, and following up as required.


Requirements:
*Degree (BSc (Hons)) in Geology, Civil Engineering, Geo/Environmental Science, Soil Mechanics, or similar.
*1 + years of industry experience in geotechnical/geo-environmental engineering.
*Experience managing site works, appropriate sampling techniques, and logging soils/rock to current guidance.
*Experience producing factual and interpretative reports, including CSMs.
*Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
*Full clean UK driving licence.
*Eligible to live and work in the UK.
