Primary Responsibilities:
As a key liaison between SGS and an assigned client base, you will actively participate in securing the continuity of current business by ensuring client expectations are met and fulfilling contractual obligations. Additionally, you will identify and implement strategic business development opportunities for OGC(Oil, Gas & Chemicals) Trade related services, aligning with company KPI’s and budgetary expectations.
In order to satisfy the requirements of the primary purpose of their role, the Global Key Account Manager (GKAM) will be expected to:
- Actively promote the image, capability and integrity of SGS within the Key Accounts
- Act as the primary point of contact with the client, facilitating effective coordination of job orders and providing assistance to local operations via a high level overview of ongoing daily operations
- Organizing and attending regular meetings with our key clients on global, regional and local levels, regarding business development, marketing, technical governance, performance reviews, resolution of conflicts, operational performance and improvement opportunities.
- Providing strategic guidance for managing and developing a positive and productive business relationship
- Actively involved in delivering revenue and profit to the global network with regard to assigned accounts
- Securing current business, maximizing international work opportunities, optimizing new work potential, facilitating day-to-day operations, resolving problems, and avoiding claim situations or loss of work
- Manage critical commercial aspects of assigned contracts, including renewal and new contract negotiations
- Design, develop and implement identified business development plans, in accordance with company strategic goals
- Work in conjunction with other Key Account Managers as part of the Global Key Account Management team.
- Monitor, review and provide regular reports to the Global Head of Key Account Managers, including but not limited to;
- An overview of assigned clients
- Identified business growth performance
- key performance indicators, as applicable
- Bad debt, complaints or claims
- Commercial or operational items
- An overview of assigned clients
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this role should possess a proactive nature and a strong drive to seek out opportunities, both within SGS and externally. Building a vast network of contacts within SGS, customers and the wider industry will be essential for success in this position.
A successful GKAM should demonstrate the ability and willingness to:
- Thrive under pressure and meet demanding deadlines, even outside their 'comfort zone’
- Be self-motivated and disciplined, capable of working independently without close supervision
- Effectively manage others while also being an integral part of a larger team
- Communicate and represent SGS at a high level, showcasing fluent English language skills.
- Identify solutions, think laterally and maintain focus on delivering exceptional service.
Required Skills:
- Experience within the fields of, Trading operations, Hydrocarbon Loss control, Cargo inspection or Laboratory, shipping, or any other associated relevant marine business.
- Strategic thinker
- Experience of being the decision maker
- Strong, proven customer management & Development record
- Excellent communication and influencing skills. Able to interact with all levels of Management.
