About the role

As our Global Sanctions Compliance Manager you will head up a team which delivers a Sanctions Compliance and Restricted Party Screening service to support all businesses across Haleon.

With access to senior leaders within Haleon and strong links with legal, risk and compliance, HR, treasury and finance teams, you will be managing Haleon sanctions processes and framework ensuring they operate effectively and efficiently, whilst in line with global sanctions compliance strategy and Haleon needs.

This will require a strong service focus and leadership experience to exceed customers’ expectations and drive continuous improvements. 

Key responsibilities

Innovation

  • Embed the organisation’s global trade and economic sanctions compliance strategy providing interpretation and oversight of sanctions policies and procedures, with clearly aligned objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Identify, define & deploy key projects and initiatives to address performance gaps and continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of sanctions compliance through service delivery.

Performance

  • Manage a globally dispersed team and ensure that SLAs are met.

  • Manage, mitigate, escalate risks and issues associated with Haleon Sanctions screening and due diligence processes.

  • Manage operations and workflow globally relating to ad-hoc and automated sanctions screening requests processes, as well as chairing the committee for system configuration and list management.

  • Ensure effective governance, processes and measures are delivered in accordance to regulations and business need.

  • Complete quality assurance (QA) on investigations and queries handled by the screening team to ensure they are in line with Haleon policy and designed processes.

Trust

  • Supports Head of Trade Compliance and senior management in meeting their regulatory obligations by providing an active support in the implementation of Sanctions policies in compliance with regulations and Haleon’s Sanctions Policies, procedures and standards.

  • Ensure consistent and effective communication with Legal and key stakeholders (internal and external to the organisation) on sanctions risks and issues.

  • Ensure changes to regulations either globally or locally are identified and embedded into our approved Haleon policy.

  • Provides Haleon business units with advice on all aspects of sanctions compliance, providing targeted training where required.

  • Proactive management of risks, changes and programmes and projects in accordance with Haleon’s strategic priorities.

  • Manage the relationship and SLA with key internal and external customers, ensuring effective alignment with functions/team.

Qualifications and skills

Essential

  • Working knowledge of sanctions compliance, risk management, regulators and relevant laws/regulations

  • Working knowledge of automated sanctions screening processes, screening system management & risk mitigations

  • ACAMS or ICA Sanctions Compliance or Anti-Money Laundering

  • Ability to lead a service and a team

  • UN/EU/UK/OFAC sanctions laws and requirements

  • Strong trade compliance knowledge

  • Strong customer focus

  • Demonstrated attention to detail

  • Good communication and people skills

  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to extensively analyse data

  • Strong strategic knowledge of HALEON’s direction

  • Ability to work within a team

Preferred

  • Qualified to Degree level

  • Export control knowledge

  • Experience of influencing and supporting senior leadership teams within an organisation

  • Ability to build effective relationships across external and internal stakeholders
