Due to continued growth, our client, a leading supplier of specialist capital equipment based in Peterborough, currently has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Controls Engineer. You will be providing electrical service support to all of our clients’ departments in the UK and abroad. Primarily providing day-to-day support for electrical design, programming, and testing of specialist capital equipment.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in managing customer projects from a control/programming perspective
- Develop PLC and HMI programs for machines and systems under supervision
- Participate in the design, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of PLC and HMI programs
- Assist in specifying control system solutions and components
- Support the design, supervision, and conclusion of machine/plant tests
- Help in writing documentation, manuals, and instructions for machines
- Create technical files under guidance
- Ensure projects (electrical/program design) meet electrical safety regulations
- Conduct feasibility studies for new technical innovations
Person Specification
- Degree educated in a relevant engineering field
- Some experience with PLC programming on capital equipment, through internships, projects, or coursework would be beneficial
- Knowledge of Siemens, Allen Bradley, or Mitsubishi PLCs is advantageous
- Basic understanding of electrical design preferred
Hours of Work, Pay, and Benefits
- Salary up to £35,000
- The role is full-time based on a 37-hour week
- Monday to Friday 08:30 to 16:45
- Company pension scheme after 1 years’ service
- In addition to the usual public holidays, currently 8 per annum, there is an annual leave allowance of 21 days
