Position: Graduate/Trainee Quantity Surveyor/Estimator
Salary: £20,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
Job Type: Full-time, Graduate

Role Description

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join the Contracts & Estimating team. The role is ideal for a forward-thinking individual who is willing to progress their career in construction quantity surveying, potentially having already started gaining or working towards a BTEC HNC or Degree level qualification in this field.

Responsibilities include training and assisting with:

  • Estimating architectural metalwork, secondary steelwork, and structural steel.
  • Reading architects and engineers' drawings.
  • Material take-offs and tender summaries.
  • Obtaining supplier quotations and negotiating.
  • Preparing and drafting detailed quotations.
  • Liaising with clients to discuss tender submissions.
  • Quantifying material take-offs and producing cost analysis for client approvals.
  • Monthly job costing forecasts and analysis.
  • Attending client meetings and occasional site visits with the Contracts lead.
  • Working with other departments.

Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (preferred).
  • Experience: 1 year of surveying experience (preferred).
