We operate a hybrid working pattern from our offices in Mayfair with 3 days in the office and 2 from home, althought 5 days in the office is available if preferred. 

 The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting with the accurate & timely preparation of monthly financial accounts and associated reporting for a number of the firms Group companies across EMEA
This role requires finance background either accounting and finance/STEM degree, someone with good attention to detail and pro-active, strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate both people and processes.  You will have the opportunity to get involved in the various aspects of the Finance function of the trade finance team, gain a broad range of experience as well as learning about the  business and the systems we use. 

Key Responsibilities
Month-end duties including

  • Booking and reconciling Joint Interest Billing Statements (JIB) & preparing Cash Calls
  • Booking Depreciation and Decommissioning entries
  • Revenue bookings
  • Preparing bank reconciliations and intercompany confirmations
  • Update financial models on a monthly basis
  • Analysing monthly movements & articulating to management reasons for significant changes.
  • Co-ordination and delivery of various management reporting packs 
  • Review and document internal controls to ensure compliance with policies and standards
  • Manage the firm Overhead reporting on a monthly basis.
  • Manage accounts payable function for the Upstream department, communicating payment details to Treasury and ensuring vendors are kept updated.
  • Submit monthly accounts to the Group via Hyperion.
  • Support annual group year-end audit.
  • Assist with preparation of annual tax returns and quarterly tax returns 
  • Assist with preparation of external regulatory reporting – CEMAC
  • Maintain accurate and complete supporting documentation for all of the above

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Previous experience (if part qualified) working in a Finance Position (ideally within a similar industry)
  • CIMA or ACCA part qualified or has a degree / strong A-levels (including Maths) and a desire to undertake CIMA or ACCA qualification
  • Familiarity with oil production sharing contracts is desirable but not necessary
  • Strong numerical skills which will be tested at interview stage
  • Good Interpersonal / communication skills
  • Advanced IT skills with a demonstrable aptitude for accounting systems, Excel and a keen interest in developing financial analysis skills as it relates to the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Highly organised, detail orientated with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
