Not sure how to get into Teaching? A local Primary school at the heart of Slough, Berkshire has a Graduate Teaching assistant opportunity.

You will be supporting the children in Key Stage 1 or 2 (KS1/KS2). This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate to develop their experience within education.

A graduate with a degree graded 2:2 or above is ideal for this role and a graduate with some previous experience working with children/child are/education or Psychology is desirable.

This relevant previous experience could include childcare, tutoring, helping within a nursery, in a sport setting, charity or in a similar classroom setting. Any experience or interest is supporting children with SEN would be a huge advantage for this role!

The Graduate Teaching assistant role:

  • Must have the confidence to be able to conduct 1:1 learning and/or in small groups outside the classroom setting.
  • Support KS1/KS2 pupils with their initial growth and development as a Primary School Teaching Assistant Support pupils with additional needs when required to help them feel comfortable.
  • Build a rapport with the Slough-based children and provide emotional support.
  • Work with staff to create a fun and stimulating learning environment for the pupils.
  • There may be SEN children in the mainstream classroom, you should be comfortable supporting their SEN requirements - from ASD, Autism and challenging behaviour.
  • Start date September

*Must hold a DBS certification or willingness to obtain on, employment is subject to the DBS being cleared to be safe to work with children*
