We are recruiting for a Grave Digger Driver/ Operative to work in cemeteries in Medway Towns. This position is on a temporary basis with an immediate start however there may be an opportunity for permanent employment for the right candidate.

Your main duties will include digging graves, general grounds maintenance of the cemetery gardens and strimming.

You will be using manual and mechanical machinery to carry out digs and backfills, preparing sites for funerals with grass matting and boards and other tasks include maintaining the site, planting, pruning and weeding.

You will need to have experience using 180 and/or 360 digging equipment, ideally with the relevant Lantra Award and knowledge of relevant health & safety guidelines. Previous experience of working in a grounds maintenance role, ability to work autonomously as an individual and as part of a team is essential along with good communication, written and verbal skills.

You should hold a full UK Driving Licence with ideally category C1+E entitlement with no disqualifications and no more than 6 points for insurance purposes as you will be required to drive the company van.

This is a full time position working 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday, with some overtime available at an enhanced rate, time and a half for Saturdaysand double time for Sundays.

Salaries will be reviewed on successful appointment.
