Grid Connection Engineer

London based office- 3 days a week
Up to £75,000 DOE
Technology agnostic developer, investor and asset owner in the onshore renewable energy space

Over the last decade, this renewable investor, developer and asset owner has been progressing to work on interesting projects across the world of renewables. Due to their successful pipeline, they are now looking to expand their team through the crucial addition of a Grid Engineer.

They are a technology agnostic group, meaning they are able to work across several joint ventures in different verticals, including cosmetics, vertical farming and the renewables industry. They have expanded the group to encompass the entire development process as well as owning and operating assets, to broaden revenue streams. Additionally, they work closely with EPC partners also to build assets out.

They've seen recent success in their renewables projects, successfully handing over a utility scale BESS, with construction set for this year and energisation next year. They accredit their success to their nimble and agile structure with fast decision making and lack of red tape. They are seeking like minded people to join their team as problem solvers, eager to progress processes with sound solutions.

The role:
This is a key role to the team, working alongside their Head of Connections. You'd have the opportunity to work alongside one of the most well connected individuals in the space and to learn from their experience. You'd be able to work alongside them throughout the entire grid connection process, developing your skills and knowledge through working closely with them on industry leading projects.

Your main role will include:
- Assisting on the development and identification of grid connection agreements for various utility scale onshore renewables projects.
- Liaising with grid operators at both a transmission and distribution level. You'd also be working closely with other various stakeholders throughout this process.
- Supporting on grid offer negotiations throughout the connection process.
- Conducting feasibility studies and technical assessments for grid agreements.

A background in electrical engineering and having a strong understanding of grid connection processes in the UK would be essential for this opportunity. Having worked on renewable energy projects would also be essential for this opportunity.
