The role

You will grind the scrap product in line with the requirements of the production schedule and reroute to the mixing room for rework. You will be responsible for conducting safety checks and general maintenance of grinding machinery, while ensuring good housekeeping of the grinding area at all times

Key accountabilities

• Prioritise workload by checking the Mixing Room Production Schedule for powder requirements. • Inspect the grinding area and rework station for appropriate material, ensuring the scrap record is complete and escalating issues to the Line Co-Ordinator. • Handle materials according to manual handling guidelines and operate the Counterbalance Forklift Truck as needed. • Conduct checks for foreign bodies in scrap and report potential contamination. • Maintain accurate records on the Grinder Daily report for traceability. • Perform weekly stock takes of scrap product awaiting grinding. • Conduct visual checks and maintenance reporting on the Master Mover and grinding machinery. • Inspect webs weekly, complete the Web Condition Report form, and communicate any issues to the Web Technician. • Implement lock-off procedures and clean the grinding machine daily or after grinding nut products, following the Grinder Hygiene Schedule. • Regularly check metal detectors and report any contamination. • Ensure cleaning of bogies and trays after each use, with special attention to nut product contact.

Skills & experience

• Experience in a fast-paced environment • FLT Experience • Experience with machinery • Ability to learn new skills • Applicants need to be numerate/ literate/ flexible/ self-motivated/ good problem-solving abilities/ ability to work with minimum supervision and use own initiative • Communication skills • Ability to work as part of a team • Excellent time keeping and attendance record • Grind the scrap product in line with the requirements of the production schedule and reroute to the mixing room for rework • Conduct safety checks and general maintenance of the grinding machinery • Ensure the good hygiene and housekeeping of the grinding area at all times Issue work wear and PPE to employees on the twilight and night shifts in a timely manner
