Job Title: Grinder / Turner.
Duration: 6 months initially
Rate: Doe.
Hours: 7am to 5pm Mon to Thurs, 7am to 1pm Fridays. Overtime at weekends if required. (44 hours per week)

Job Purpose:

The Crank Grinder/Central Lathe Turner is responsible for grinding cranks to management specifications, ensuring precision and quality in all tasks.

Key Responsibilities & Activities:

Centre lathe turning and grinding cranks.
Utilize a range of measuring equipment for component checks.
Write and interpret instructions and procedures accurately.
Obtain and analyse relevant information from various sources.
Control machines and processes efficiently.
Perform inspections of equipment, structures, materials, and products
Maintain clear and honest communication.
Ensure a safe work environment.
Apply the latest relevant knowledge to tasks.
Support all relevant 5S activities.
Report any near misses and dispose of waste correctly.
Communicate job issues or problems to the line manager.
Adhere to company Health, Safety & Environmental instructions, and requirements.
Take on additional responsibilities within the scope of the role.

Background & Experience:

Machinist experience.
Minimum 1-year experience in relevant rail or automotive industry (preferred)
Practical and mechanically oriented
Good problem-solving skills
Self-motivated

Qualifications/Education Required:
Recognized engineering qualification preferred.
