We are currently on the lookout for a Grounds and Streets Operative to join our team in Rotherham.

The Role:

• Perform street cleaning activities, including litter picking, sweeping, and emptying bins.
• Maintain public parks, gardens, and open spaces by mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and planting flowers.
• Assist in the maintenance and repair of public amenities, such as benches, playgrounds, and pathways.
• Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Report any hazards, damage, or issues encountered during work to the supervisor.
• Engage with the public in a friendly and professional manner while performing duties.
• Support seasonal activities such as snow removal and gritting during winter months

The Candidate:

• Knowledge and experience of environmental cleansing, horticultural or grounds maintenance work
• Experience in the operation of using powered tools, plant and equipment
• Experience of manual working in an outdoor environment
• Understanding of Health and Safety requirements
• Understanding of environmental issues
• Working in an environment where literacy and numeracy skills have been demonstrated
