Type: Full Time, Temporary to Permanent

Salary: £21,968 per annum based on working full time hours.

Hours: Starting at 20hours per week -  (8am - 4:30pm or 9am - 5:30pm)

About the Role: Reed is delighted to be working with a fantastic company based in Norwich, seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Worker. This role offers a great opportunity to join a dynamic team on the outskirts of Norwich.

Purpose of the Role: To provide a local town with ground maintenance to keep the town upkeep in great order, working with a team. Some of the responsibilities for the role will be listed below.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate ride-on mowers to cut large grass areas.
  • Use hand mowers and strimmer's to finish around obstacles.
  • Perform hedge cutting at appropriate times for birds and wildlife.
  • Inspect tennis and basketball courts for debris and surface contamination.
  • Conduct monthly inspections and daily visual checks of play equipment.
  • Perform daily litter picking.
  • Unlock cemeteries every weekday.
  • Ensure the chapel is clean and tidy.
  • Assist the public with cemetery queries.
  • Collect grave digging paperwork from the office.
  • Perform grave digging and backfilling.
  • Repair any collapsed graves.
  • Erect and remove barriers.
  • Sweep, clean, and clear rubbish after the market.
  • Grease and lubricate appropriate parts on machinery.
  • Check defibrillators monthly and record site checks online.
  • Perform weekly maintenance of office grounds, including litter and debris removal.

Experience required:

  • Horticulture knowledge is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience with garden machinery is advantageous.
  • Experience with 360° excavators and ride-on mowers is advantageous.
