Group Accountant – 12-Month ContractFinance Department · Norwich, Norfolk

Position Overview

Our client is recruiting for an experienced Group Accountant to join a rapidly expanding, innovative organisation known for its exceptional facilities and supportive, collaborative culture. This role offers significant growth potential within the company.

Role Objective

Reporting directly to the Associate Finance Director, the Group Accountant will be integral to the finance team, focusing on group consolidation, external financial reporting, and critical financial analyses. This position is a new addition, created to support the company's recent expansion, and is offered on a 12-month fixed-term basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of Group Financial Statements: Compile initial group accounts for the newly established group as of FY2024.
  • External Auditor Coordination: Work with external auditors to ensure timely review and submission of consolidated financial statements and other reports.
  • Local Site Collaboration: Engage with local accounting teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement in the close, consolidation, and reporting processes.
  • Support Finance Systems Projects: Contribute to the development and implementation of internal finance systems.
  • Disclosure Schedules Maintenance: Prepare and maintain all disclosure schedules in compliance with UKGAAP standards.
  • Effective Communication: Build and maintain robust relationships across the organization to facilitate effective communication.
  • Reporting Tools Development: Enhance the use of reporting tools to improve the efficiency and accuracy of consolidation and reporting processes.
  • Ad Hoc Support: Assist with various projects and tasks as directed by the senior finance team.

Candidate Requirements

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience post-qualification in CIMA, ACCA, or ACA.
  • In-depth technical expertise in Group accounts under UK GAAP.
  • International outlook, reflecting the company's diverse workforce and global expansion.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Energetic, adaptable, and positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage and maintain confidential information effectively.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite is a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of IFRS in a group context is advantageous but not mandatory.
