The Company

The Role

  • Drive definition and implementation of standards and business specific guidelines in financial control processes across the group, as required.
  • Ensure that local audits are managed effectively, and that the statutory accounts are accurate, complete and delivered on time
  • Ensure that regulations, including tax, are fully complied with

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to Group Finance Director and Treasurer, responsible for:

  • Preparation of the Group’s annual statutory accounts, including all its notes
  • Build a strong relationship with the Company’s external auditors
  • Completion of annual statutory audit,
  • Completion of monthly consolidated Group accounts,
  • Consolidation of bi-weekly cash flows,
  • Provide information to the Group’s insurers as required and in particular around the annual review
  • Build a strong relationship with the Company’s tax advisors,
  • Liaison with tax authorities and assist in the preparation of annual tax returns,
  • Support the Group Finance Director and Treasurer with all matters relating to the Group’s bankers
  • Provide financial information to credit insurers and building relationships with key credit insurers,
  • Support the business to ensure compliance with the Group’s transfer price policy,
  • Supervise the monthly intercompany reconciliation process
  • Maintaining general ledgers for the group holding companies,
  • Manage the quarterly recharge process.

Person Specification

Qualifications/Education/Experience:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified with at least two years post-qualification experience
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent with a proven track record.
  • Experience of working in an accounting practice setting, preferably top four
  • Excellent technical accounting expertise, with practical knowledge and experience

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyse, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases.
