Group Financial Controller

Full time, permanent and hybrid (3 & 2)

RattrayParkin are exclusively partnered with a professional services business in Leicester seeking to appoint a Group Financial Controller.

This is a No.2 role in an acquisitive, growing professional services business and will be a key support to the CFO across the entire finance spectrum. As well as managing the finance function, the role will have extensive exposure to key strategic decision making, acquisition strategy and execution, and opportunity to build relationships with external advisers across private equity and debt markets

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising and mentoring a growing team of currently 3 in Financial Control (2 overseas and 1 UK)
  • Ownership of the timely and accurate reporting of monthly financials at entity and consolidated level
  • Coordinating audits and reviewing the Financial Statements of the Group’s operating entities
  • Being the primary contact with the auditors and other key advisers
  • Ensuring the Group continues to maintain accounting papers in relation to key areas of risk, financial judgements and assumption
  • Continuous focus to improve control frameworks within the Finance team
  • Coordinating, reviewing and delivering management accounts and Board papers for the Group and regulated subsidiaries
  • Ad-hoc analysis on financial data, monitoring expenditure and revenue forecasting
  • Ownership of quarterly Covenant reporting with a close focus on the financing agreement to understand extent of permitted adjustments
  • Coordinating acquisition tracking against business case
  • Coordinating, reviewing and delivering the Group’s Regulatory Reporting Requirements, including annual ICARA and other FCA reporting
  • Ownership of Company Secretary responsibilities across the Group
  • Coordinate review of Group VAT structure to ensure VAT position optimised
  • Coordinating & reviewing the Group’s general tax reporting with external advisers
  • Ensuring compliance with the Groups transfer pricing policies

Requirements:

  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified with significant PQE
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • High attention to detail
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office suite
