Guest House Duty Supervisor

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Guest House Duty Supervisor to manage the daily operations of our guest house. In this role, you will actively participate in housekeeping, breakfast service, and recruitment, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Active Participation: Engage in daily tasks, including housekeeping and breakfast service, leading by example.
  • Guest Interaction: Communicate with guests to welcome them, address complaints, solve problems, and provide information.
  • Recruitment: Manage the recruitment process for various positions, ensuring a strong and capable team.
  • Operational Oversight: Supervise work at all levels (reception, kitchen staff, maids, office employees, etc.), setting clear objectives and ensuring efficient operations.
  • Booking Management: Handle the booking system and ensure rapid responses to customer requests.
  • Activity Planning: Plan and allocate responsibilities to achieve optimal operational efficiency.
  • Financial Management: Manage budgets and expenses, analyze financial information, and monitor sales and profits.
  • Maintenance and Logistics: Handle maintenance issues, staff shortages, equipment needs, and renovations.
  • External Collaboration: Collaborate with suppliers, travel agencies, and event planners.
  • Compliance and Safety: Regularly inspect facilities and enforce strict compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Reporting: Provide daily reports to the remote upper management team.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Proven experience in a hands-on supervisory role, preferably in a hotel or guest house setting.
  • Fluency in English; additional language skills, especially Mandarin or Cantonese, are a plus.
  • Comprehensive understanding of hotel management best practices and relevant laws and guidelines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with hotel management software is advantageous.
  • Demonstrable decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multitask, work well under pressure, and maintain reliability.
  • Outstanding leadership skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • A degree in Business Administration, Hotel/Hospitality Management, or a related field is an advantage.
