We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Person to work for our well-established client based in Hoddesdon. The role requires general maintenance duties including decorating, housekeeping, gardening and general plumbing duties within their grade II listed office building. You will also be required to carry out maintenance duties within some residential properties, mainly located in Wareside so candidates must drive and have their own mode of transport.

Our client can be flexible with working hours and would consider candidates looking for either full-time or part-time hours. This is a temporary position with the view to becoming permanent for the right candidate and our client offers a competitive rate of pay depending on experience.

Requirements:

  • Enthusiastic individual, with common sense, initiative, and an ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Own transport.
  • Basic computer understanding (emails, internet research, spreadsheets).
  • Flexibility with working days would be ideal.
  • We will consider part or full time for the right person (Minimum of 2 days Wednesday to Friday, up to 5 days per week, Monday to Friday).

Job Outline:

Decorating

General housekeeping duties (to ensure the office environment runs smoothly):

  • Monitoring and maintaining the presentation of the building and reporting issues.
  • Replacing (as necessary), light bulbs, hand towels, toilet rolls, cleaning products, etc.
  • Ensuring external roofing areas are clear of leaves and debris, and drainage channels are running effectively.

Garden Area

  • Monitoring and maintaining the presentation of the garden to include: mowing, weeding, leaf collecting, car parks clear of debris.

General Maintenance:

Examples, but not limited to:

  • Liaising with specialists, as necessary.
  • General plumbing to kitchens and cloakrooms.

o Overview of the Health and Safety Policy, ensuring:

o No obstructions to Fire Exit’s and Heaters.

o Plugs are not faulty, and removing any damaged electrical goods from use.

o Trailing wires are clearly marked/covered.

  • Guide for service engineers, e.g., fire equipment, security alarms etc.

o Regular monthly checklists

o Any other jobs specified by manager.
