Head Chef Replacement - Gastropub

My client is looking for an experienced chef to join them in a Head Chef position. As they have other locations and cheffing teams, they can guarantee rotating weekends off - they aim for at least one a month.

With rustic interiors, a welcoming atmosphere, and a great selection of local ales, wines, and spirits, it’s a favorite spot for locals and visitors. The menu features classic British pub fare, made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. They also host community events, including quiz nights and live music, making it a lively hub in Harpenden. Whether for a quiet pint or a hearty meal, they offer an authentic English pub experience.

Must Haves:

• 2 years as a head chef working in a similar environment
• Self-sufficient and Proactive High level qualified sue chef looking to step up to Head Chef
• Driving license and car might be easier due to shift pattern-depends on candidate's location.

• Friendly & approachable
• Hands on and self motivated
• Having great leadership skills & the ability to lead from the front
• Proud of their inhouse cleanliness and always have good personal hygiene
• In busy working environments
• Excited about specials, new menus, and promotions.

Roles & responsibilities include:

• Manage the kitchen to ensure food service is always excellent
• All ordering for the kitchen including food, equipment & cleaning products and ensure all stock and ordering is accurate to maximise cashflow
• Ensure that hygiene & cleanliness of the kitchen is to the highest standard
• Work with the pub manager to ensure service levels are at the highest standard
