We are looking to recruit a Head of Adult Social Care. The vacancy within Bath will be for an initial 3-6 months with potential for extension subject to internal circumstance and your performance.

Hybrid working 2 / 3 days on site


Responsibilities include:

  • The primary purpose of this post is to lead and manage the council's Adult Social Care Teams in accordance with the Council's Vision and Values, policy and other objectives. In doing this to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
  • To lead on the operational and strategic development of services and performance targets for services directly provided and services commissioned under delegated responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven operational and strategic leadership and management experience in sectors which have led to positive and improved outcomes.
  • Leading and managing strategic or operational developments which have led to change and performance improvement.
  • Experience of leading effective inter-agency and partnership working for the planning, commissioning and delivery of services which have led to positive outcomes.
  • Leadership of high performance management teams which has secured excellent day to day operational practice.
  • Successful financial management at strategic and /or operational level.
  • Experience of providing supervision and coaching or mentoring
