I have been tasked by a leading business who are at the forefront of AI innovation within their tech stack, they are dedicated to harnessing the power of artificial intelligence to transform their sector and enhance lives.

With continued growth they are scaling their AI initiatives, they are committed to ensuring ethical, transparent, and responsible use of AI technologies. However, they need to consider the employment of a Head AI Governance on a permanent basis to ensure best practice and conduct.

As the Head of AI Governance, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive governance framework to oversee the ethical and responsible deployment of AI across the business.

To be successful you will be a strategic leader with a deep understanding of AI technologies, regulatory landscapes, and ethical considerations.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish policies, standards, and practices that align with our commitment to responsible AI.

Head of AI Governance Specification:

  • Develop and lead the implementation of AI governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure ethical, transparent, and responsible AI practices.
  • Monitor and assess the impact of AI technologies on privacy, security, and societal implications, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and chair an AI ethics committee, bringing together stakeholders from across the organization to review and guide AI initiatives.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to integrate ethical considerations into the AI development lifecycle.
  • Lead efforts to educate and train employees on AI governance principles, promoting a culture of accountability and ethical responsibility.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in AI governance, and provide thought leadership on the subject.
  • Represent the company in external forums, industry groups, and conferences, advocating for responsible AI practices and contributing to the broader AI governance discourse.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Law, Ethics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in AI governance, risk management, compliance, or a related area.
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies, machine learning, data privacy, and ethical considerations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement governance frameworks and policies.
  • Experience working in highly regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare) is a plus.
