Head of Bridging Finance

Key responsibilities: 

  • You will be part of the senior management team and take ownership of the origination, structuring and deal execution across Bridging Finance.
  • You will also proactively seek new business opportunities focussed on Bridging Finance.
  • You will be responsible for building out and managing the bridging team in alignment with the companys growth plans.
  • Conducting full due diligence on proposals, including financial review of the credit worthiness of applicants:
    • Knowledge of construction types and investment strategies
    • Knowledge of bridging appraisals and cashflows
    • Knowledge of preparing lending Heads of Terms
    • Knowledge of reviewing and creating appropriate financial models
  • Presentation to key stakeholders:
    • To include building financial models from the client’s initial appraisals and sense checking costs and returns profile
    • Preparation and presentation of credit papers, and closing out queries and issues raised at credit committee
  • Reviewing reports of professional advisers:
    • Typically Surveyors, Solicitors, Valuers and other relevant professionals
  • Good working knowledge of facility letters and other finance documents (debenture, legal charge, guarantee etc) and an ability to negotiate these documents:
    • Ability to manage the legal process
    • Finding solutions when and where problems present themselves
  • Ensuring that the pipeline business is reviewed and CRM systems updated.
  • Adhering to all compliance needs within the business.

Required skills and experience:

  • Established track record in originating Bridging Finance opportunities. 
  • Previous management experience or a willingness to embrace management responsibility in this role.
  • The ability to work to demanding deadlines.
  • A highly skilled communicator with superior written and presentation skills.
  • Flexibility with regards to working patterns – this role will involve travel.
  • A positive & tenacious attitude.
  • IT literacy – familiarity with MS Office and CRM systems.
  • A high level of commercial acumen and excellent negotiation skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excel and modelling skills and ability to interrogate existing client models.
  • Knowledge of real estate debt legal documents and legal process.
