Head of Department - Arms and Armour
Alchemy is partnering with an established Auction House to find a Head of Department for their Arms and Armour sector. This role requires a dedicated leader to oversee the department's operations, manage client relationships, and drive growth within the collectible arms and armour market.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a specialised team, ensuring operational efficiency and exceptional performance.
- Catalogue and prepare arms and armour sales, adhering to deadlines and maintaining budgeted commission levels.
- Expand the department's client base by actively pursuing new business and fostering relationships with relevant trade and professional bodies.
- Manage department budgets effectively, ensuring optimal use of resources to benefit the department.
- Maintain high standards of client service, meeting all contractual obligations to buyers and vendors.
- Travel as necessary to achieve business and client relationship objectives.
Required Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience in the arms and armour sector, preferably within an auction house.
- Established relationships with key dealers and collectors in the arms and armour field.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and networking abilities.
- Proficiency in relevant computer and business enterprise software.
- Capability to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
