Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time, 0.8FTE (Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays – the fourth day could be Thursday or Friday)

Exciting Opportunity for a Head of Drama in Hackney!

Are you a passionate and dynamic Head of Drama looking to lead and inspire? We are seeking an enthusiastic Head of Drama to join our vibrant secondary school in Hackney. This is a fantastic chance to make a significant impact in the performing arts department and to foster a love for drama among our students.

Head of DramaResponsibilities:

  • Able to teach key stages 3 and key stages 4.
  • Lead and manage the Drama department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement engaging and creative Drama curriculum and lesson plans.
  • Mentor and support Drama teachers, fostering professional development and sharing best practices.
  • Organize and oversee school productions, performances, and extra-curricular drama activities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to promote growth.
  • Collaborate with other department heads and school leadership to enhance the overall educational experience.

Head of DramaRequirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in teaching Drama at the secondary level.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and students.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • A passion for Drama and the ability to bring creativity into the classroom.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Candidates must have QTS – without QTS, they will not be considered.
