Head of English/Literacy - Special Education

A Special School near Woking are seeking a Head of English/Literacy to join their dedicated teaching team from September. The school caters to students aged 11-16 with learning difficulties, Autism and associated needs.

You will be responsible for:

  • Planning and teaching lessons according to the school's curriculum and schemes of learning
  • Co-ordinating the English/Literacy curriculum
  • Attending parents evenings as and when required
  • Setting high expectations that motivate and challenge students
  • Personalising and differentiatiating lessons to accommodate individual needs
  • Working with the SENCO to ensure the curriculum is inclusive

Ideal for experienced Primary or Secondary Teachers, this role offers the opportunity to lead Literacy for students working at KS1 and KS2 level, with some pursuing GCSEs in English, Maths, and Art.
