Head of Finance

The Role

Reporting into the CFO, my client is looking to recruit a Head of Finance to lead a small finance team and prepare information on the financial results and direction of the business.

In conjunction with the CFO, you will drive strategic planning through analysis of financial performance, and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Lead and develop the finance team
  • Deliver monthly management & financial accounts and board pack with analysis
  • Senior stakeholder engagement, including investors (private equity) and banks
  • Treasury & Cash Management, including delivery of 13-week cash flow forecast
  • Lead preparation of tax calculations (Corporate & Sales Tax incl US, UK and Europe)
  • Lead long-term financial planning and forecasting / budgeting
  • Produce annual consolidated Statutory Accounts with auditors
  • Support the business on profitable business growth, highlighting opportunities and risks

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will be a fully Qualified Accountant with the ability to drive positive change and work in a fast-paced environment.

You will have strong leadership and business partnering skills, and proven financial management, strategic planning and financial analysis capabilities.

Experience of working for a Direct to Consumer business or International Retailer (or similar) is highly desirable, and you will be commercially focused but also strong technically.

In terms of systems, experience of NetSuite and Power BI would be beneficial but not essential.

The Client

My client is a profitable PE backed SME in the Retail sector, with an innovative product and revenues of c£30mln. They have ambitious growth plans and operate globally, selling into over 90 countries, with the majority of sales across Europe and the US.

The role offers hybrid working although ideally you will prefer to work mainly out of the office, and will provide excellent exposure to PE stakeholders, and an opportunity to be part of an exciting and successful organisation.
