Simply360 are recruiting for a Head of Finance to join a consulting firm that specialises in providing strategic advice to companies, particularly in the information, events, media, and technology sectors. They offer services such as growth strategy, market entry, M&A (mergers and acquisitions) support, and operational improvement. The firm helps clients navigate complex market dynamics and develop strategies to achieve sustainable growth.

The role:

As the business enters its next phase of growth, they are looking for a forward thinking, proactive but diligent individual to join their team to head up the finance dept and help support the business growth trajectory. You will play a critical role in driving their financial strategy, ensuring sound financial management, and supporting the company's continued success.

Head of Finance responsibilities:

  • Manage the financial planning and budgeting processes, including annual budgets, forecasts and project profitability.
  • Work closely with the Board to provide support with long-term financial plans.
  • Support and guidance on LTIP’s and annual bonus plans for team members.
  • Monitor and analyse financial performance, providing regular reports to the executive team and key stakeholders.
  • Lead financial reporting activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance with accounting standards, and timely submission of financial statements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, providing financial insights and guidance to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop and evaluate financial KPIs, performance metrics, and cost-control initiatives.
  • Manage and oversee the accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and liaise with auditors and external parties for financial audits and reviews.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies, continuously assessing and improving financial processes.
  • Support the team with cashflow strategy and improvements.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to the finance and wider team members.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in accounting or a related field, with a preference for experience in consultancy (similar sector)
  • Strong understanding of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively across various departments and levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced evolving environment.
  • Office based minimum 4, ideally 5 days in the office
