Ackerman Pierce are looking to recruit an Head of Head of Mental Health and Learning disabilities within West London. The vacancy will be for an initial 3-6 months with potential for extension subject to internal circumstance and your performance.

Overview of Role

  • The role holder will ensure the teams deliver services that are co-produced with residents by

actively encouraging involvement and ownership of the support plan but also take a leadership role where appropriate and will ensure the team give clear explanation of the use of Personal

  • Budgets and Direct Payments so that informed decisions can be made.
  • The role holder will be responsible for ensuring the team actively promotes wellbeing and

independence, to enable individuals and carers to retain or regain their skills and confidence

and prevent, delay or reduce deterioration. They will ensure the team members engage

effectively with families to facilitate contingency planning to anticipate complexity and

changing circumstances.

  • They will also assist with the day to day functions of the teams as required, providing

immediate professional guidance on urgent issues, arranging immediate support to manage

risk in line with a personalised approach and escalating issues of concern to more senior staff using the Escalation Briefing Process

Requirements:

  • Meet the support needs of vulnerable adults in compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Promote independence, opportunity, and choice in service delivery.
  • Ensure joint working across organizational boundaries for seamless care.
  • Lead the Council with a 'one organization' approach, supporting strategic priorities and elected members.
  • Promote equality, sustainability, and innovation within the workforce.
  • Participate in emergency planning and business contingency arrangements.
