Head of HR Operations

Reporting to
the People Director, you will play a pivotal role in developing executive and
leadership team relationships, while leading teams across reward, benefits,
payroll, people policy, and people services. You will provide leadership in
employee relations and employment legal expertise, ensuring greater consistency
across the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to create and lead
the reward and benefits strategy, delivering high-quality HR operational
standards through processes like payroll and HR administration.
This role is hybrid and will require you to be in St Austell Brewery for 3 days a week. Preferably including Tuesday and Friday.
Key
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach,
and develop a team of HR, reward, payroll, and HR system professionals. Foster
team engagement and develop talent for future opportunities. - Actively
participate in the people leadership team, collaborating with the People
Director, Head of HR, and Senior Learning and Culture Partner to deliver the
people strategy. - Be an active
member of the St Austell Brewery leadership group, contributing to
business-wide projects and driving the people agenda to improve our employment
value proposition and employee experience. - Work with
the Senior Reward and Policy Partner to shape and lead a three-year reward and
benefits strategy. Implement consistent job evaluation and salary benchmarking. - Collaborate
with wider People team to introduce and embed a new HR information and payroll
system. Manage key external partners and internal stakeholders effectively. - Establish a
framework for dealing with employee relations cases, shaping our culture
proactively. Develop close working relationships with external legal partners
and enhance HRBP and line manager capabilities. - Establish
credibility and trust with senior stakeholders to provide operational cover for
the Head of HR and People Director when needed.
About you
- Proven
experience in HR leadership roles, with a focus on reward and benefits
strategy. - Strong track
record of team development and engagement. - Experience
in implementing HR systems and managing payroll processes. - Expertise in
employee relations and employment law. - Excellent
stakeholder management and communication skills. - Ability to
work collaboratively in a leadership team and contribute to strategic
initiatives.
