We are looking for an Outstanding Leader who is passionate about inclusion and can drive our initiatives forward, ensuring that our students remain at the heart of everything we do. 

The Role 

As the Head of Inclusion, you will lead and manage the College’s provision for students requiring additional support, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), those accessing Additional Learning Support (ALS), and those involved in Foundation Learning and Supported Internships. You will also have a key role in supporting 14-16 Early College Transfers and ensuring the successful engagement of students who are Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEETs). 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and manage the SEND, ALS, and Foundation Learning teams to ensure high-quality support and teaching. 
  • Oversee the development and delivery of Supported Internships, ensuring they meet the needs of our students and local employers. 
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum leaders to support 14-16 Early College Transfers, ensuring a smooth transition and continued success for young learners. 
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage and retain NEETs, providing them with tailored support to achieve positive outcomes. 
  • Promote a culture of inclusivity and equity across the College, ensuring that all students have access to the resources and support they need to thrive. 
  • Work closely with external agencies, local authorities, and employers to enhance the College’s inclusive offer. 
  • Act as a champion for students with additional needs, ensuring their voice is central to the development of policies and practices. 
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of inclusive practices and interventions, driving continuous improvement.

Essential Qualifications and Experience: 

  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification. 
  • Proven leadership experience in SEND, ALS, or a related field within an educational setting. 
  • Experience working with 14-16-year-olds, NEETs, and students with additional needs. 
  • Strong knowledge of current legislation and best practices in inclusion and SEND. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, parents, and external stakeholders.
