About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Interim Head of Industrial Relations to join our client wh is in Organisational Design and Development phase. This hybrid role requires a strong presence in London for 2-3 days a week, with flexibility for remote working. As the Interim Head of Industrial Relations, you will be responsible for setting and implementing the IR strategy across the organisation, ensuring harmonious and productive relationships between management, employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a robust Industrial Relations strategy aligned with the company’s plans and objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Organisational Design team to drive strategic initiatives and improvements.
  • Design the way the organisation will manage and resolve complex industrial relations issues, including negotiations, disputes, and iindustrial action.
  • Foster strong relationships with trade unions, employee representatives, and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, maintaining best practices in IR.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to senior management on all IR matters.
  • Lead and mentor a team of IR professionals, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a senior Industrial Relations role within fast-paced commercial blue-collar environments - ideally logistics / transport.
  • Strong knowledge of UK IR and regulations.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic IR initiatives.
  • Experience working within an Organisational Design team is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid role, balancing on-site and remote responsibilities.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

What is on offer:

  • Competitive interim or day rate salary - day rate between £450-550. Salary c£75,000
