My client is seeking a talented and experienced professional to join their friendly and supportive team as the Head of IT. This is a fantastic opportunity to embrace a new and exciting challenge and make a significant contribution to the continued success of the Trust.

The Head of IT will play a pivotal role in shaping, developing, and executing the IT strategy. The successful candidate will oversee the IT Services function, manage infrastructure, and ensure seamless technical operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic IT Leadership: Develop and implement a forward-thinking IT strategy that aligns with the Trust's goals, leveraging technology to enhance teaching, learning, and operational efficiency across all academies.
  • Systems and Infrastructure Development: Lead the creation and implementation of innovative, efficient IT systems and applications that support educational excellence and streamline management processes.
  • Project Management: Oversee and coordinate the development of all IT systems and infrastructure projects across the Trust, ensuring timely and successful completion.
  • Operational Reliability: Ensure the reliable operation of IT services and infrastructure.
  • Budget and Supplier Management: Manage IT budgets effectively and maintain strong relationships with service providers.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and support the IT team, which includes roles such as Data Manager, Network Manager, IT Support Technician, among others.
  • Process and Policy Development: Develop and refine IT processes and policies, and deliver staff training to ensure high-quality IT services for all stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Attend relevant meetings and collaborate with various stakeholders to maintain and improve IT services.

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, managerial acumen, and strong interpersonal skills. Essential qualifications and experience include:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP) would be advantageous.
  • Technical Expertise: Extensive experience with IT infrastructure, networks, and systems management. Proficiency in cyber security, cloud services, and data management is essential.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in managing and leading IT teams, with the ability to inspire and develop team members.
  • Project Management Skills: Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully delivering complex IT projects on time and within budget.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement strategic plans that align with organisational goals and drive innovation.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering effective and efficient IT solutions.
