Head of Legal - Commercial/Regulatory - Brokerage

Salary Guide: £120,000 - £145,000 per annum, plus bonus and benefits

Our client, operating within the regulatory compliance, fin-tech, and brokerage sectors, is in search of a qualified In-House Solicitor as Group Legal Counsel. They require expertise in institutional EFX or Prime Brokerage, particularly in regulatory and commercial matters to join their global team. The role is offered on a hybrid basis (2 days a week office based) and salary up to £145k per annum, plus bonus and benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review, advise, and handle legal and regulatory projects and matters for the company and external clients.
• Draft, review, negotiate and manage a variety of contracts which would include business partnership agreements, terms of business, NDA's, services agreements, outsource agreements and technology contracts.
• Assist clients in identifying and mitigating legal/regulatory risks and ensuring compliance with domestic and international laws and regulations.
• Develop and maintain essential documentation such policies, procedures, manuals, handbooks, and regulatory reports.
• Liaise with external parties, including regulators, external counsel, auditors, partners, and contractors.

Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales, with a minimum of 6 years PQE
• You will have a background within institutional EFX or Prime Brokerage.
• Experience in the UK financial services sector, particularly in asset management, securities brokerage or FX.
• Experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts to include business partner agreements, terms of business, NDA's, services agreements, outsource agreements, technology contracts, intra-group agreement, engagement letters and marketing agreements.
• In-depth knowledge of UK/EU legislation and regulations.
• International/multi-country experience would be desirable.
• Proactive, enthusiastic, and resilient with strong technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Effective planning, multitasking, able to working in a fast paced environment with excellent attention to detail.
