Imperial Recruitment Group are delighted to announce that we are working on behalf of a long established Manufacturing company in Halifax to recruit a Head of New Product Development on a Permanent basis.

Position: Head of New Product Development
Location: Halifax
Salary: Negotiable
Employment Type: Permanent

Purpose of Role:

As the Head of NPD, you will be responsible for driving innovation and overseeing the development of new products. You’ll lead a multi-disciplinary, collaborate with various departments, and play a critical role in shaping the company’s product portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of New Product Development (NPD) clients innovation and development hub.
  • Develop and execute a strategic NPD plan aligned with company goals, customer needs and product roadmaps.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and new technologies to drive ground-breaking product innovation.
  • Support the development of a culture and environment that makes it a great place to work.
  • Inspire and lead a multi-disciplinary NPD team to deliver objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders in Product Management, Testing, Manufacturing Operations, Marketing and Quality Control.
  • Work closely with Project Management to deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Provide strong, visible and collaborative leadership acting as a positive role model to all members of the team.


Essential:

  • A degree in Product Design, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in an NPD leadership role and a track record of successful product delivery.
  • An enthusiastic and motivational person with a can-do attitude.
  • A strong technical background and a passion for innovation, prepared to challenge the convention.
  • You must be prepared to work at pace, be flexible and agile, but always adhering to correct processes and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
  • Approachable and sociable.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of advanced polymer technologies.
  • Fellow or Chartered Member of an industry related Professional Body.
  • Knowledge of environmental and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD and PDM software.
  • Willingness to travel to European and Far East locations.
