Head of Operations

A Head of Operations is required for a leading manufacturing business near Doncaster in South Yorkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to join and thriving business with a reputation for quality and success.

Due to continued growth my client is now looking to appoint a Head of Operations to have full ownership of its manufacturing facility. The role will report direct to the MD and have responsibility for 6 direct reports and over 100 indirect members of staff.

The Head of Operations responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for a range of processes including the machine shops and associated processes
• Direct responsibility for, and involvement in projects and strategies, as well as being a contact for customers regarding technical queries, particularly for new developments
• Providing plans for improvement opportunities on processes and more efficient manufacturing. To drive the business forward through the successful implementation of new ideas and processes
• Ensuring the generation and capture of relevant data and the use of data to drive process improvement
• Increasing output, improve efficiencies and introduce new technologies
• The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills and experiences:
• Educated to degree or equivalent standard in engineering discipline of with significant relevant experience
• A ‘hands-on’ production professional, who possess an in-depth knowledge of precision engineering/manufacturing processes
• Extensive experience within advanced manufacturing, ideally machining, is highly desirable
• Exceptional people management skills and team work abilities
• The ability to build a good working relationships with Senior Production staff and acknowledge their valuable input to the team
