GBR Recruitment are working exclusively with a leading Charity / NFP organisation recruiting for an experienced 360-degree HR professional, with strong transformational change experience, to take up their new post of Head of People & EDI.

The Head of People & EDI will have extremely strong leadership skills, strong experience in leading / implementing operational change strategies & possess the ability to drive positive operational development across this fast paced, dynamic Charity organisation.

You will be a real activist for all things Equality, Diversity & Inclusion plus Social Justice, with previous experience of implementing successful EDI programmes, HR processes & procedures, along with ensuring the organisation supports / promotes Health & Wellbeing of its employees, implementing different innovative Health & Wellbeing initiatives to help staff thrive.

This role requires the post holder to be a true HR Generalist (both a Strategist & Operational deliverer) who is strong across all key areas of HR, ER, Employee Engagement, EDI, Wellbeing, Employment Law, Employee Benefits & Rewards, OD, Recruitment, Payroll, Training & Development, HR Systems & IT Systems.

Duties:

  • Lead the HR & EDI team to shape & implement the People / HR strategy (2 directs).
  • Oversee / Lead all HR / People functions & day to day activities.
  • Play a lead role in implementing new EDI programmes / processes (EDI activist).
  • Enhance the overall Employee experience using HR / ER Best Practice techniques.
  • Manage & lead the full life cycle of people related services inc. policies & procedures.
  • Implement real culture change & process change across the organisation.
  • ER Case Management ownership.
  • HRBP to the SMT, The Directors, The Board of Trustees, Employees & Volunteers.
  • Implement effective Recruitment, Onboarding, Staff Retention & Training / L&D strategies, to continue to enhance the organisations performance.
  • Analyse Workforce trends & data to develop proactive strategies (constant CI approach to strategies & plans, reforecasting / re-aligning where needed).
  • Mentor & Coach the SMT in things HR, ER, EDI & Wellbeing.
  • Provide visible hands-on leadership & be the no.1 advocate for driving a positive upbeat engaging work culture, one that focuses on Wellbeing, Diversity, Inclusion for all & real Collaboration.
  • Design & Implement EDI Training Programmes & roll them out across the Charity.
  • Implement the Talent Management Programme for attracting & retaining staff.
  • Administration of KPI’s & MI Reports to get a real understanding of Trends.
  • Lead Employee Engagement with innovative Engagement Programmes.
  • Drive Organisational Change Management / CI Programmes.
  • Act as the Charities Safeguarding Officer.
  • Challenge the "Status Quo" & be a positive "Disrupter" to deliver real Change.

Attributes:

  • Senior HR Generalist experience ideally at Head of HR, Head of People, Senior HR Manager, HR Manager or similar level within a Charity / NFP or outside the sector. Could suit someone looking to take that next step in their career to a Head of, level position.
  • Possess a strong background in developing, implementing, advocating & championing EDI strategies.
  • Used to delivering large scale Organisational Change Programmes.
  • Strong in using HR & IT Systems / Software (ideally Cascade &/or Iris)
  • Experience of working within a fast paced geographically spread organisation.
  • Possessing the ability to motivate, lead & develop remote working teams (home based employees).
  • Calm & collective under pressure, with strong Emotional Intelligence.

Fully remote home-based role, working a 35-hour week (M-F) within an SME size charity organisation, spread UK wide (remote workers right across the UK).

Interviews are to take place immediately, with a potential June / July start for the right person (depending on notice periods).
