The Company
We are delighted to be working with an exciting business in the £450 million turnover Built Environment company who are based in Birmingham with a reach across European and Middle East geographies.

The Role
Our client is looking for an experienced and charismatic Head of Procurement to centralise their Purchasing across geographies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely acquisition of goods and services at the best value. Currently there is a blank canvas, whilst there is a team of buyers and administrators the business requires someone to formulate and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives. 
  • Identify, evaluate and select suppliers based on cost, quality, reliability and responsiveness. Must have proactive approach. 
  • Streamline procurement process to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Identify areas for improvement and implement best practices to optimize procurement operations.
  • Develop procurement budgets
  • Identify and mitigate procurement risks 
  • Monitor supplier performance
  • Provide leadership and guidance
  • Take an active pert in the company's sustainability initiative
  • This role is part of the global shared service team and will operate in Europe and Middle East with global communications and reporting policies 


The Person
The successful candidate will come from a strong procurement and leadership background, preferably with European/Global experience or at least a disparate team. A strong track record in building and maintaining progressive working relationships both internally and externally. Ability to work alone and with the operations team. 
You must be used to working in a fast paced environment, have strong negotiation skills and good problem solving ability.
Ability to flex hours around the hours of the country you are dealing with. 
Ability to travel when required outside the country. 
Salary
Competitive salary between £70,000 and £80,000 plus benefits and 25 days holiday.
