Carbon60 are proud to be partnering with Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services to recruit for a Head of Product Line reporting directly to the CEO and CFO. Lufthansa Technik are a global leading provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the civil aviation industry.

This Head of Product Line position is on a permanent basis and has become available due to continued growth and expansion. In this role, you will be responsible for the on-time delivery (OTD) and Profit & Loss (P&L) of the product line for landing gear as well as being accountable for customer satisfaction and providing excellent customer service.


Role Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the Product Line as a successful business unit within the organization, with full responsibility for profitability and revenue growth of the Landing Gear MRO and Utilisation of Asset Pool.
  • Align and drive the Product Line and its interfaces towards Customer Excellence and enable Digitalization.
  • Foster a 'Global Winning Team' spirit and drive a customer mind set into the organization.
  • Oversee Customer Service and Fulfilment processes and organize them to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Support the Product Line's global Sales approach.
  • Continuous improvement of existing tools and process, within the context of implementing best practices and harmonization across the network.
  • Representing and promoting the Landing Gear product portfolio and specific market and customer requirements across the organization and to customers.
  • Coordinate with other departments of the Landing Gear Network. Work closely with the Product Line teams to align strategy and resolve problems to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
  • Build, define, manage and report departmental performance metrics (KPI) for continuous improvement.
  • Propose department needs and set strategic goals with upper management. Participate and provide input as part of the management team.
  • Present and represent the Lufthansa Technik Group in a consistent and professional way, internally and externally.
  • Perform weekly review meetings to ensure the team follows department standards.
  • Inform the team of all new information related to products, procedures, customer needs and company related issues.
  • Deliver performance evaluations and follow the progressive discipline process in accordance with company policy.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Proven ability to lead people and get positive results through others, requiring in-depth experience of collaboration between employees for best results.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, ability to clearly convey the benefits of our products/services to management, stakeholders and customers.
  • Effective planning and organization skills to deliver workload in a timely manner.
  • Ability to read and understand customer contracts / specifications and put in place action plans for contract adherence and fulfilment per customer expectations.
  • Possess excellent decision-making quality and is able to make independent decision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to build strong and lasting relationships both internally and externally.
  • Experience in working and collaborating with a diverse team, customer-focused and service-oriented.
  • Providing a safe team atmosphere and sense of proximity and accessibility across multiple international locations, supported by adequate IT tools (e.g. videoconferencing).
  • Innovative approach to management skills.
  • Ability to work within a corporate matrix environment.
