The opportunity:

Scene Generation is an increasingly important part of the way we work in Seekers and Datalinks, supporting the wider strategy of developing missiles in a model based engineering approach. Scene generation within RF Seekers uses the Ray Synthetic Imaging Model (RaySIM) to define a high fidelity model of the real world. Using this tool allows us to support the benefits of reducing the need for firing trials and increasing the ability to test more use cases.

RaySIM is now being used to support multiple major programmes and to provide maximum benefit from the capability we are changing the way in we provide that support to a Product Line model. This will allow us to take maximum efficiency from the synergies available in working across the directorate.

This new role is to head-up the transition to the Product Line and take the Scene Generation organisation forward as its scope and influence increases. Day to day you'll be involved in co-ordinating deliverables associated with Scene generation, identifying future work, building and managing a team to transition from individual project support to full product line and promoting the benefits of scene generation both internally and externally.

  • Programme delivery experience
  • Energy, drive, and commitment
