HSE Recruitment are working with a Global Engineering business who are looking for a Head of Health, Safety and Environment (SHE- Construction focused) at their site in Barrow-in-Furness This is a brand new position which will lead on the site redevelopment programme, as a result of current and future major infrastructure projects happening on site.

Location- Barrow-in-Furness- This is a site-based role with relocation support provided. If you aren’t local and relocation isn’t an option, a willingness to stay in the local area weekly is an option.

Salary-  £80,000 to £104,000 + plus executive benefits, competitive pension, enhanced leave, share incentive plan, flexible working, employee assistance, Cycle2work, discounts, potential annual incentives.

Reporting into the SHE Director, you will lead a team of 8 in providing strategic leadership, in a ‘boots on the ground’ role across the infrastructure projects on site. You will manage principle contractor relationships and oversee contractors' SHE performance during construction and renovation phases. Provide SHE management information and influence project consortiums and client performance.  Manage internal stakeholders, shape site master plans, and align SHE strategy with project goals. Make autonomous decisions and demonstrate strong organizational awareness.

Requirements:
  • Proven track record in a senior leadership position on multi-site, complex, construction projects as a contractor or on the client site.
  • Proficiency in CDM principles
  • Diploma Level qualified in Health & Safety
  • Expertise in integrating SHE within organizational policies and operations.
