Our client is seeking a highly knowledgeable and dependable Head of Tax to join their team in Manchester City Centre on a part time basis. The role can be completed anywhere in the UK, as long as the right individual has access to one of our client's offices in any of the UK's big cities. This role offers an attractive salary of £120,000 (FTE) and the opportunity to work within a dynamic and supportive environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for proactive engagement with key finance and business functions, managing tax outcomes, implementing tax strategy, and ensuring compliance. What you'll do:

As the Head of Tax, your role will be pivotal in driving the financial success of our client's organisation. You will be responsible for proactively engaging with key finance and business functions to understand forthcoming activities of the group. Your keen understanding of these activities will allow you to identify, report on, and act on any potential tax implications. You will also stay abreast of any forthcoming UK and overseas legislative changes that may impact the business, ensuring that you can report on these changes promptly and recommend appropriate action. Your role will also involve implementing the tax strategy in line with senior management's wishes, identifying and managing tax risks including transfer pricing, compliance, governance, developing and maintaining tax control registers, providing or procuring rigorous SAO and CCO support, forecasting tax payments and liabilities monthly, managing group tax reporting and audits, as well as managing and resolving enquiries with tax authorities.

  • Proactively engage with key finance and business functions on a regular basis to understand forthcoming activities of the group
  • Identify, report on, and act on tax implications of those activities where necessary to manage and optimise tax outcomes within commercial constraints
  • Stay updated on forthcoming UK and overseas legislative changes that may impact the business, report and recommend appropriate action
  • Implement the tax strategy in line with the wishes of senior management
  • Identify and manage tax risk including transfer pricing, compliance, and governance
  • Develop and maintain tax control registers
  • Provide or procure rigorous SAO and CCO support
  • Forecast tax payments and liabilities (monthly) including forecasting the tax sensitive items that may impact tax rate and tax cost such as the Corporate Interest Restriction and Pillar 2
  • Manage the group tax reporting and audit
  • Manage and resolve enquiries with tax authorities
