We've teamed up with the leading provider of outside broadcast, fixed rig and remote production solutions to find a Head of Transport to join their team in Bracknell.

Our client's operations span across a diverse range of events, including sports, entertainment, and live television productions. With a strong commitment to excellence, they manage a fleet of advanced outside broadcast vehicles and support units, ensuring seamless and reliable service to their clients.

The Head of Transport will manage a fleet of over 20 Outside Broadcast vehicles and support vehicles. This role involves ensuring the fleet is in excellent condition and roadworthy at all times to meet critical broadcast requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Operations and Head of Rigging, maintaining meticulous records of vehicle and driver documentation and implementing maintenance schedules. A high OCRS score is a significant measure of success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain OCRS reports, vehicle records, and ensure up-to-date licenses and certifications.
  • Create and manage a maintenance schedule with minimal business impact, overseeing trailer repairs.
  • Handle DVSA interactions, tachograph analysis, driver defect sheets, and license records.
  • Promote fuel efficiency, safe driving, and organise necessary permits.
  • Manage budgets, supplier pricing, and attend Health and Safety meetings.

Skills Required:

  • Experience managing a large fleet of commercial vehicles.
  • At least 5 years of experience in transportation management within a similar role or in national/international haulage.
  • Strong knowledge of Road Transport Regulations.
  • Experience dealing with the DVSA and the Office of the Traffic Commissioners.
  • Technical background in HGV road maintenance standards and MOT requirements.
  • Understanding of both GB Domestic and EU driver hours rules, and GB Domestic exemptions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Willingness to travel in the UK and globally as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE passes at grade C or above (including Maths and English), or equivalent.
  • HGV driver licence and full UK driving licence.
  • Qualification in Standard International Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Transport Haulage.
