Our client based in Birmingham are currently looking for a H&S Advisor to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The purpose of the role is to support the Group Health & Safety Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • To set a personal example, wearing appropriate personal protective clothing and equipment, and observing all safety requirements and procedures.
  • Ensure that all projects are undertaken and completed with Health & Safety as the upmost priority.
  • Advise Directors and Managers on all safety, health and welfare matters to ensure the company complies with its statutory obligations.
  • Monitor site Health & Safety arrangements and activities and make proposals to the Site Manager to ensure that all sites are fully Health & Safety compliant.
  • In conjunction with site management, develop and implement site specific safety and quality control plans and programs, resolving problems whilst ensuring that projects are completed safely and on time.
  • Produce Health & Safety Risk Assessments for all site staff, ensuring safe working methods are always adopted.
  • Conduct Health & Safety inspections and site audits and recommend remedial actions as required.
  • Report on changes in legislation and advice obtained from other sources.
  • Advise Contracts Directors immediately of any near misses.
  • Advise the Health &Safety Manager immediately of all incidents under RIDDOR in accordance with company procedures

Our client is looking to move quickly and are therefore offering between £34,500 - £39,000 per annum based on experience and qualifications.
