Health and Social Care Lecturer

An esteemed college in Cambridge is seeking a dedicated Health and Social Care Lecturer to join their team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be instrumental in teaching classes across Level 2 and 3 programmes, as well as contributing to the development of the new T Level Health Science course set for 2025. This role is pivotal in providing high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment, along with fulfilling associated tutorial responsibilities.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver engaging and informative lectures in Health and Social Care to students at Level 2 and 3, ensuring high standards of education.
  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Provide support and guidance to students, including one-to-one tutorials, to enhance their learning experience.
  • Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to facilitate progress and achievement.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments.
  • Participate in curriculum development activities, particularly in preparation for the upcoming T Level Health Science course.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with industry practices and educational methodologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A recognised Teaching Qualification.
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Level 2 minimum in English and Maths.
  • Recent and relevant industry experience.
  • Previous experience teaching in a Further Education environment is highly advantageous.
  • An Assessor’s award is desirable but not essential.
